hello & welcome to our first ever froomies post! 🌿
Or should I say… bonjour - because we’re writing this from Château Coliving in France, halfway through a 3-week “Coliving for a Living” experience.
Right now we’re living in a big, cosy castle with a group of lovely, like-minded humans who all share the dream of opening their own co-living spaces. Everyone is at a different stage of their journey, which makes the conversations and shared learning feel super helpful and supportive.
We eat some dinners together, have mastermind sessions to support each other’s projects (co-living or otherwise), do a spot of morning yoga and make Sunday crêpes in the communal kitchen.
Meanwhile, we’ve been declared as “Château bunnies” - because we’ve barely left the castle or the grounds of the castle. While others roam the French countryside and markets, we’ve been happily curled up by the fire, beavering away on Froomies prep. We regret nothing.
Somewhere between the crêpes, the chatting and the castle-based hibernation, we also coined a new word:
Froomiverse.
The ever-expanding universe of all things Froomies.
So here’s what’s been happening in the Froomiverse recently…
we exchanged contracts! ✨
Yello said something the other day that pretty much sums up the lengthy legal journey: “It was easier to earn the money than to spend it.”
After a year of searching, 35+ property viewings, and countless “almost but not quite” moments, the perfect place arrived unexpectedly in an email. A few weeks later, our offer was accepted… and then came a 5-month legal marathon.
Why?
Because we’re buying the company that owns the property - not just the property itself - which meant a far more complex process than a standard purchase.
Our solicitors produced a 150-page Share Purchase Agreement, and we reviewed what felt like hundreds of documents in due diligence. The deal nearly fell apart several times - something we now attribute to: an outdated English legal system, and the valuable life lesson that face-to-face conversations fix things that emails break.
But… we got there.
On 21 October 2025, we signed on the dotted line (witnessed by our friend Jo in her neon art studio in Somerset - which we love).
We officially get the keys to the farm on 30 January 2026.

Because the property was being sold confidentially, we had to keep everything under wraps - which was VERY difficult considering our excitement levels.
But a few weeks ago, we received permission to use the photos.
They’re now live on the website and Instagram… and honestly, the place is even cooler in real life. Especially when visioning it full of froomies.
It’s a stunning 80-acre farm with cottages, woodland, fields, animals and so much potential.

When we sat down to plan the tools, spreadsheets, processes and communication needed to run a co-living space plus a farm plus wellness activities plus holidays plus take care of the animals plus admin…
we quickly realised:
No normal system was going to cut it.
So we thought:
“Could we just… build our own?”
Within 24 hours of that idea, Yello had coded the first version - in full flow-state, surrounded by snacks and cacao - and a month later we had a genuinely impressive bespoke platform.
The app will be used for:
community building
on-site communication
keeping track of bookings
organising community dinners
logging & caring for the farm animals
a central point of information
Everyone staying at Froomies will get access. Yello is polishing it as we speak.

With the farm secured and the cottages already guest-ready, we’re officially open for bookings starting 14 February 2026.
Valentine’s Day felt like the perfect date - a symbolic little “love note” to the start of this next chapter.
